Stages in a Waste Water Treatment installation

Wastewater treatment is an important process that aims to clean contaminated water before it is released back into the environment. This process involves several complex stages to remove dirt, chemicals and other organic substances that can damage the water ecosystem. Here are several key stages in a wastewater treatment plant that need to be understood:

Movement of sludge

The first step is to ensure that waste water can flow properly to the waste processing plant. No matter what source it comes from, it should follow the same path. Waste water is directed to the sewer and then flows to the next waste treatment facility through pipes located underground.
After going through all processing stages, waste water that has been cleaned and reprocessed is ready to be released into the environment. This process usually involves a final stage of purification, where wastewater that has been free of contaminants is checked again to ensure that its quality meets established standards before the water is then released back into certain water sources or waters.

Pre-Screening

Here, large objects such as trash, debris, and other insoluble materials are filtered and removed from the wastewater. This process helps protect the installation from damage and prepares wastewater for the next stages.

Primary Screening

After pre-filtration, wastewater enters the primary filtration stage. At this stage, the large particles contained in the waste water will separate and settle at the bottom of the filter tank. These settled solids are then transported and removed from the water.

Biological Processing

The next process is biological processing which consists of several stages. At this stage, bacteria that break down organic substances in wastewater are introduced. This biological process includes secondary treatment, where bacteria are used to further break down organic matter in wastewater. Then, there is a tertiary processing stage where water quality improvement is carried out by removing more organic substances and other dissolved substances using certain methods such as advanced filtration or the use of chemicals.

Final Processing and Disinfection

The final stage in wastewater treatment is final treatment and disinfection. At this stage, wastewater that has gone through the previous stages then goes through a disinfection process to eliminate pathogenic microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses that may still be present. Commonly used methods include the use of chlorination or ozonation processes.

Final Purification and Discharge

After going through all processing stages, waste water that has been cleaned and reprocessed is ready to be released into the environment. This process usually involves a final stage of purification, where wastewater that has been free of contaminants is checked again to ensure that its quality meets established standards before the water is then released back into certain water sources or waters.
By understanding and implementing this series of stages correctly, wastewater treatment plants can carry out their function effectively in cleaning wastewater before it is released back into the environment. These steps are important to maintain the balance of the water ecosystem and overall public health.

Sewage pumping stations, such as those available with various types of pumps, often play an important role at this stage. For example, if the space is below the main sewer system (such as a basement bathroom or utility room), or if there is difficulty connecting it to the main sewer system, a sewage pumping station may be required. This way, waste can reach the desired location.
If you require further information regarding water treatment or would like advice regarding wastewater management in your home, please do not hesitate to contact SIIPE
We at SIIPE have expertise in drainage systems and are ready to provide answers to any questions you may have. We also provide a variety of waste pumping stations designed to move waste and drain it into the main sewer system if gravity is not functioning optimally.

Pada tahap ini, air limbah yang telah melalui tahapan sebelumnya kemudian melalui proses desinfeksi untuk menghilangkan mikroorganisme patogen seperti bakteri dan virus yang mungkin masih ada.
